Petr Petrov

Petr V. Petrov (15.04.1950/the village Kildyushevo, Yalchik District, Chuvash ASSR - ☦ 2012) - the artist of naive art.

Petrov Petr V. was born in the village Kildyushevo, Yalchik District, Chuvash ASSR. He spent his childhood in Kazakhstan. He graduated from high school in Semipalatinsk. At school, he loved drawing and sketching.
His uncle and godfather - Honored Artist of the Chuvash Republic Nikolai Petrovich Maximov, who worked as a production designer in musical and drama theaters - had a great influence on his development. Before the army, Peter worked for three months as an artist in the theater, painting the scenery.

In 1967, he returned from Kazakhstan to Chuvashia and enrolled in the art-graphic faculty of the Chuvash State Pedagogical Institute of I. Y. Yakovlev in Cheboksary.
He always painted, but began to draw a lot on the faculty. In 1972 - 1973 he taught at Izberbashsk Pedagogical School (Dagestan). After serving in the army (1973-1974), he worked as a teacher of drawing and sketching of the Kyzyl boarding school, as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Fine Arts of the ChGPI, and as a graphic designer at the Cheboksary Instrument-Making Plant. From 1977 to 1984 he was an artist-painter of the Chuvash creative and production workshops of art fund. From 1984 to 1998 he was a teacher at the Cheboksary Children’s Art School №2. From 2000 to 2012 - Senior Lecturer, Department of Design, Chuvash State University. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1977), Honored Artist of the Chuvash Republic (2006). Since 1976, he participated in republican, all-Russian and art international art exhibitions in Cheboksary, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, Budapest, Zurich, Dubai.
