Pyzhova Alevtina D. was born and lives in Moscow. She worked in a house management committee, then started painting in 1991, and became famous after taking part in the TV contest. Before she started painting, her creative efforts were limited by handicrafts: she painted trays, sewed patchwork quilts, and carved figurines. Despite her ostentatious man-hating, one of her main themes is yet love and even erotic subjects. Especially noteworthy and her images of animals, with human-like expressive muzzles. Her lush forest remotely recalls the works of Henri Rousseau.
Of special interest are her works depicting the characters of Indian mythology. Bright works of anti-communist orientation portray Lenin and Stalin as villains. Most of the works are endowed with vivid expression and pressing psychic energy, but some, on the contrary, are filled with a quiet and transparent feeling, psychologism - for example, a portrait of «Nicholas II with his son.» Magazine graphics and animation are the most probable sources of Pyzhova’s art manner. However, many portraits, rare in her works, urban landscapes and works of visionary character testify to the individuality and originality of the artist’s creative method. Not all of her works are of equal value, the early works are made on plywood and pieces of old hardboard, with holes, broken corners, etc. She used paints made by herself on a water basis. Their painted surface was dull. Then she turned to oil and acrylic in her works.
